Introduction

Major changes in the mission, staffing and the nation’s economy during the last year have necessitated a new look at the Council’s Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan. At its Retreat on April 4, 2009 the Board decided to address current needs by revising the Mission and Vision Statements and developing a tactical plan for the Council’s next fiscal year (2009-2010). In the spring of 2010 the Board will evaluate the progress made in its tactical plan and develop a strategic plan for the next 3 to 5 years.

FAIRFIELD ARTS COUNCIL’S MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS

MISSION

The Fairfield Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and supporting the arts and artists in the town of Fairfield.

VISION

The arts are integral to the cultural well being of the people of Fairfield. Our vision, therefore, is for a town where the arts are celebrated, supported and woven into the very fabric of our life together

To further this vision we will

Seek opportunities to encourage, promote and fund the arts and artists in our community.
Provide programs and educational events to engage the Fairfield Community
Work with government officials and community leaders to bring about investment in the arts.
Develop arts awareness in young people and give encouragement and support to those who show interest and/or talent.
Communicate our mission and vision effectively.
